MAD Showcase 2011 - Nosrep
This year, by the time it came for Showcase, I only had four students left in Drama. What to do? I had been interested in the work undertaken with puppets and decided that this would be our focus. Aastha, one of our students came up with a story as a stimulus - A young boy, who had learning problems. His father just wanted success. An Art teacher helped him achieve. Perfect. The students wrote the script focussing on Dsylexia and that every child is special. Nosrep is actually person spelt backward. The students and I decided what puppets we needed and how we were going to present. It changed and developed. The Gr 10 Music students were commissioned to write the music for various sections. Together with multimedia, I think it was a lovely production with a simple and effective message.
